Supply Dynamics to Aggregate Raw Material Requirements of Major Aircraft Manufacturer

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

31 July 2011

CINCINNATI, OH, U.S.A. – Supply Dynamics is pleased to announce that it has been selected by a major North American aircraft manufacturer to aggregate the raw material requirements of its supply base.  Every metal part used in every model of its aircraft will be included in the program, involving thousands of parts and hundreds of suppliers.  The goals of the program are to increase efficiency through the elimination of material outage and overstock problems and to ensure the competitive consolidated purchasing of materials across the customer’s supply base.

The aircraft manufacturer has also licensed OASIS, Supply Dynamics’ web based raw material forecasting and fulfillment solution.  OASIS provides Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) with visibility and control over the raw materials that go into their finished parts, irrespective of where those finished parts are manufactured.  This visibility is a key to the success of the aggregation process.  Among other things, it engenders credibility with the mills and distributors by giving them unprecedented access to real-time information about forecasted raw material requirements (especially the raw materials that go into the parts manufactured not by the OEM, but by its outside vendors).

“This program will set a new standard for how the airframe raw material supply chain ought to function. For the first time, it will enable the customer and all impacted parties to smoothly and efficiently choreograph their interactions.  While it will involve some up-front work to characterize bills of material and configure OASIS, it will enable the customer to reap dividends others can only dream of. We are honored they have chosen Supply Dynamics to be their partner in this exciting program,” says Supply Dynamics Technical Program Manager, Chuck Eisenhauer.

About Supply Dynamics:  Supply Dynamics is the leading provider of material consolidation solutions known as “Material Demand Aggregation.” Located in Cincinnati, Ohio, Supply Dynamics utilizes proprietary processes and IT solutions to provide OEM customers with real-time visibility and control over the materials that go into their finished parts – especially the materials that go into the parts made by their Tier 1 and Tier 2 outside part suppliers. Provided in a hosted “software as a service” model, the Supply Dynamics multi-enterprise platform exchanges critical-to-quality data with virtually any number of legacy MRP/ERP systems, providing customers with a single, unified view of how finished part materials are impacting their business. Supply Dynamics’ suite of web-based tools and reports allow customers to instantly forecast and negotiate common materials and monitor the timely order and supply of materials across their extended supply chain. This enables an OEM and its supply partners to know that materials being produced, ordered and delivered are synchronized with actual finished part demand. It also allows the OEM to measure on-time delivery of raw materials to production sites and outside part manufacturers, to standardize materials and to identify users for surplus, excess and obsolete materials. Material Demand Aggregation is applicable to numerous industries providing a means for OEMs to coordinate the actions of each link in the supply chain to dramatically improve efficiency and predictability of supply.
