FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
31 March, 2012
CINCINNATI, OH, U.S.A.– Supply Dynamics(www.supplydynamics.com) is pleased to announce that its ongoing Material Demand Aggregation program with a world-leading manufacturer of business jets has progressed to a new phase. The program will utilize Supply Dynamics’ industry leading proprietary processes and IT solutions to establish control over the materials that are used in the Original Equipment Manufacturer’s (OEM) aircraft.
Of primary concern is that the proper materials used to manufacture all of the OEM’s parts are ordered, produced, and delivered in synchronization with actual OEM finished part demand. To ensure that this happens, the Bill-of-Material for each part must be verified by the part manufacturer responsible for producing each part. The validated Bill-of-Material must then be tied to the production schedule for that part and lead times must be incorporated. A distributor or mill must be selected to provide the materials to the part manufacturers and the part manufacturers must be directed to purchase from the OEM’s designated raw material sources. The resulting “Closed Loop” system will ensure that every link in the OEM’s raw material supply chain will have the information and physical raw materials that they need to do their job as efficiently as possible.
Additional benefits of the availability of this information are that the OEM will be able to standardize materials to optimal sizes, evaluate part manufacturers based upon the value that they add to the OEM’s business, and ensure raw material availability during the expected aerospace super-cycle.
Supply Dynamics’ OASIS solution ensures that information is received when and where it is needed, a key to the entire process. OASIS allows customers to instantly forecast raw material requirements and monitor the timely order and supply of raw materials across an OEM’s extended supply chain. Chuck Eisenhauer, Senior Technical Project Manager with Supply Dynamics noted, “With the exceptional growth forecasted for the aircraft industry, visibility into the supply chain is quickly becoming essential. The visibility provided by OASIS will allow our customers to avoid many issues in the supply of material that previously would have had a devastating impact on production.”
About Supply Dynamics: Supply Dynamics is the leading provider of material consolidation solutions known as “Material Demand Aggregation.” Located in Cincinnati, Ohio, Supply Dynamics utilizes proprietary processes and IT solutions to provide OEM customers with real-time visibility and control over the materials that go into their finished parts – especially the materials that go into the parts made by their Tier 1 and Tier 2 outside part suppliers. Provided in a hosted “software as a service” model, the Supply Dynamics multi-enterprise platform exchanges critical-to-quality data with virtually any number of legacy MRP/ERP systems, providing customers with a single, unified view of how finished part materials are impacting their business. Supply Dynamics’ suite of web-based tools and reports allow customers to instantly forecast and negotiate common materials and monitor the timely order and supply of materials across their extended supply chain. This enables an OEM and its supply partners to know that materials being produced, ordered and delivered are synchronized with actual finished part demand. It also allows the OEM to measure on-time delivery of raw materials to production sites and outside part manufacturers, to standardize materials and to identify users for surplus, excess and obsolete materials. Material Demand Aggregation is applicable to numerous industries providing a means for OEMs to coordinate the actions of each link in the supply chain to dramatically improve efficiency and predictability of supply.
