Part Attribute Characterization to be Applied at Smart-Grid Manufacturer

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

30 April, 2012

CINCINNATI, OH, U.S.A.– Supply Dynamics(www.supplydynamics.com) is pleased to announce that it has reached an agreement with the sixth business unit of a major diversified OEM.  The new business unit specializes in smart grid technologies that modernize and optimize the generation, movement, and consumption of energy across the globe. Supply Dynamics will provide its new service, Part Attribute Characterization, to assist this new customer in gaining visibility throughout its raw material supply chain.

The goal of the program is to assist the customer in understanding their part raw material requirements, identify opportunities to standardize the raw materials being used, and determine if there is an opportunity to aggregate common raw materials across their supply base. This program will provide the customer with unparalleled understanding of not only what goes into their finished parts, but the manufacturing processes required to produce those parts, allowing the company to make more effective sourcing decisions.

Part Attribute Characterization continues to be a growing part of Supply Dynamics as more OEMs see the value in increased visibility throughout their supply chain. Scott Jones, Director of Operations believes, “Part Attribute Characterization provides benefits beyond simply understanding what materials a specific part number is made from.  We are identifying attributes such as manufacturing processes required to produce the parts and coatings being used.  All of this information allows our customers to make strategic sourcing decisions, match part number packages with suppliers who have the necessary machining capabilities, and even aggregate special processing across their supply chain.  Our customers continue to identify additional uses for this service.”

About Supply Dynamics: Supply Dynamics is the leading provider of material consolidation solutions known as “Material Demand Aggregation.” Located in Cincinnati Ohio, Supply Dynamics utilizes proprietary processes and IT solutions to provide OEM customers with real-time visibility and control over the materials that go into their finished parts – especially the materials that go into the parts made by their Tier 1 and Tier 2 outside part fabricators. Provided in a hosted “software as a service” model, the Supply Dynamics multi-enterprise platform exchanges critical-to-quality data with virtually any number of legacy MRP/ERP systems, providing customers with a single, unified view of how finished part materials are impacting their business. Supply Dynamics’ suite of web-based tools and reports allow customers to instantly forecast and negotiate common materials and monitor the timely order and supply of materials across their extended supply chain. This enables an OEM and its supply partners to know that materials being produced, ordered, and delivered are synchronized with actual finished part demand. It also allows the OEM to measure on-time delivery of raw materials to production sites and outside part fabricators, to standardize materials and to identify users for surplus, excess and obsolete materials. Material Demand Aggregation is applicable to numerous industries providing a means for OEMs to coordinate the actions of each link in the supply chain to dramatically improve efficiency and predictability of supply.(www.supplydynamics.com)
